In Boston a bill has been introduced in order to change safety requirements for those with food allergies!!
This is a great step to protect the tsunami of food allergic children growing everyday… let’s hope this is a tread nationwide.

I think that this bill will actually increase a restaurant’s business. From my own personal and professional experiences, many people with food allergies are extrememly cautious about eating at restaurants. Once standards are in place, and more awareness and training are brought into the food service industry, those with food allergies will eat outside the home.
Restaurants are already taking other health issues into consideration [i.e. Low Sodium, Low Fat, Kosher, Vegetarian] and I feel that allergy-friendly food options are going to be on menus in the near future.
